Information for parents

Dear Parents

As you know, Year 6 and some of Year 5 will be travelling to North Wales to Plas Dol-y-Moch tomorrow.  I am writing to confirm the final arrangements for the visit as well as a few last minute reminders.

Drop off and Pick up Times
Tomorrow the coach pick up should be at 1.45pm.  Children should arrive at school between 1.15 and 1.30pm after having their lunch at home.  If you are not able to make arrangements to bring your child in at this time then children can come into school for the morning as normal.  You are very welcome to come and wave the children off!

On the 1st October we will be arriving back at school at approximately 1.15pm.  Please collect your child at this time to ensure that they are able to get a good rest at home on Tuesday evening before returning to school the next day.  If you are working and need to use Kidz Aloud please ask the office to order a packed lunch/dinner for the Tuesday.

Pocket Money
We suggest £1 per day for pocket money for the tuck shop.  Souvenirs are available and we would suggest an amount between £5 and £10 would be ample. Please could all purses and wallets be clearly labelled and handed in to group leaders on Friday before we depart.

Luggage
Could you please ensure your child’s luggage is easily identifiable (preferably with a label), so that bags/suitcases do not get mixed up.

As well as their main luggage, children may also bring a small bag or rucksack for on the coach. Children may bring cameras, games for the journey etc but are your own responsibility. Sweets, mobile phones and other electrical items are not allowed.

Keeping in Touch
When we arrive at Plas Dol-y-Moch, a member of staff will notify school of our safe arrival and shortly after we will put a message clearly on the school website.

The programme on the first evening is very full (dinner, making beds, sorting out kit, fire drills and generally settling in), however we will be updating our class blog during our visit to give you a flavour of some of the things we’ve been up to.

We hope to post some pictures, videos and messages on the blog each evening.  Please be aware that on the first evening we might not be able to post anything until after the children have gone to bed, which could be later than on other evenings. Do keep checking!

Please do get involved by posting your own messages to your children as they love to hear from people back at home.  All comments are moderated and will appear after I’ve checked them, so don’t worry if you don’t see your message straight away!

As you can imagine, the course programme is very full and children will be making the most of their time and experience while they are away.  Mobile phones are not allowed and pupils are not expected to phone home during the visit.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to speak to speak to us before we leave.

Yours sincerely

Miss Szyndler
